Training is offered in
- Design, construction and operation of gas/oil pipelines and gas storage facilities
Scholars of the faculty - N.I. Belokon, V.S. Yablonsky, V.I. Chernikin, V.D. Taran, N. N. Konstantinov, V.A. Yufin - have been recognized on the national level.
Dean - Professor A. M. Korolyonok
Students of the faculty have three majors to choose from: oil/gas pipelines design, construction and operation as well as operation of gas-pumping units.
Each of the three departments - oil/gas transportation and storage, construction of oil/gas pipeline and storage facilities, thermodynamics and thermal engines - has a highly qualified faculty many of whom are recognized scholars.
Computer simulation, computer-aided design and the newest in diagnostics equipment are extensively used in the process of training.
In the course of training students master the practical skills necessary for the industry: filling station operator, pipe man, welder, computer operator, heavy equipment operator.
Graduates of the faculty are qualified to work at research institutes, pipeline control stations and computation centers, for construction contractors in charge of pipelines, storage facilities, pumping stations and compressor plant construction. Most students sign a contract with companies and institutes of the industry prior to enrolling in the University.
The faculty has chairs in a number of leading research institutes and companies.
The faculty is comprised of 3 departments:
Oil and Gas Transportation and Storage
Construction of Pipelines and Storage Facilities
Thermodynamics and Thermal Engines
