The faculty is very young and is presently gathering momentum.

The newly formed research schools are headed by Professor O. Perminov, Honored Lawyer of RF, Professor A. Perchik, Assistant Professor O. Sokolsky.

Among the faculty are 10 professors, doctors of science and 25 assistant professors, candidates of science.

The research work focuses on such issues as the right of property for resources, contract law with respect for the use of resources, licensing, production-sharing agreements, consortium agreements, as well as economic and information security of the energy sector enterprises. Some of the manuals and scientific publications of the faculty scholars are unique, since Gubkin University is the only Russian higher educational institution training lawyers specifically for the petroleum industry. The research done by the faculty promoted Mining Law as a sustainable branch of the Law.

The faculty’s graduates work for Gazprom, LUKOIL, UKOS, SIDANKO, and the State Duma, Ministry of Defence, federal and regional institutions of executive power, Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law of the RF Government, as well as others recognized companies and state institutions of Russia.
